NEW YORK -- A new mid-sized film mixing stage has opened in Manhattan, designed to attract high-end independent features as well as television projects. Dig It Audio's new 700 square-foot sound stage is online and has already been used to post long-form projects.

Ted Rothstein of TR Technologies was the designer/systems integrator on the project, which incorporates a Digidesign ProControl console along with a Sharp XV-Z9000 DLP 720p HD projector and Stewart Cine-Perf screen. 7.1 surround sound monitoring comes from JBL speakers.

According to Tom Efinger, who's a partner in the studio with Jeff Levy-Hinte, the new studio's maiden assignment was the mix for Moises Kaufman's The Laramie Project, (story p.10) for HBO starring Christina Ricci, Steve Buscemi, Laura Linney and Summer Phoenix. Post took a tour of the room just before the installation of its 15 seats. Dig It was working on the mix for its next project Wendingo, produced by Levy-Hinte's Antitdote Films.
